Hope you all enjoyed the festive season and had a good Christmas, I know I did, and I don't even celebrate the occasion! So anyways I know I promised to show the cards on Xmas day but was away from my PC for like 5 days so I was unable to! Hmmm ipad needed I think......

So this year I did 1 card for close friends and a bunch of simpler designs for clients, neighbours family friends etc... For the Xtra Special card I took Rudolf and turned him into me, this was basically for ha ha's and I knew all that received the card was get the joke n trust me they did!

THE BITS....

For the other collection I just rustled up some simple tree designs banged them on black backgrounds and bobs your uncle! I've only got a photograph of the finished collection for now.



I got plenty more to show so I'm gonna buckle down and get the stuff done! Till next time....

Well well well... The polo is finally finished! Easier than I thought it would be so I tried hard to make it more interesting, adding details and playing the overall atmosphere of the scene. Really ramped up the richness of the screen to give the car some emphasis. I think if kind of worked, I hope. Well anyways its mounted and framed just needs packing and delivering then job done!

Getting there! that is the motto for this weekend, this piece is getting there nicely and the VW BUS is about 90% complete, just in the colour stages at the moment with that one.

Im looking to get a classic car sometime in the new year! Going to keep it Bavarian tho, thinking 1982ish E21 320/6 or basically the first real 3 series! They are very rare these days especially in South London so I should deffo turn some heads. Well anyways I wanted to do a quick piece on an E21 just so I had a new wallpaper for my phone, but it ended up becoming an extended art piece in the end, there is no owner yet so if anybody is interested in owning this piece drop me an email.

I've taken inspiration form a restored example from the states owned by a gentleman that goes by the name 'Neek', so thank you to him. looking at the piece now its looking very black and white so I may add colour, or I might just do another piece from a different angle???!

WHATS TO COME

Lots of work to display in the next few week, xmas cards are done did 1 for the mates and a collection for clients, associates and others Ill be posting those on xmas day tho!

More vehicle illustrations in the pipeline along with more branding work to get through so watch this space, Ill be posting almost everyday up until the xmas weekend!

Also lastly been thinking of a re brand, mainly because I never wanted a company name that was associated with my own, so ill be posting stuff on my ideas very soon!

I've just returned after a little trip from Coventry, to celebrate a mates birthday! Which means birthday card design! He is a massive VW classics's man so the theme became centered around the fact that his vw bus is a very ratty one. Rather simple but very effective. Oh and I used busselecta.com to help me create the envelope design.

I've been working on a logo for a DJ/PRODUCER named LO:TEK (minimal dubstep sort of vibe) I made little head yesterday but not enough to shout about. So I plan on getting my initial designs complete today, to help me get in the mood, I completed this very simple geometric pattern that I saw once in a book long ago, Its nothing too special but simple is always best, little play with colours and it worked out fairly nice! This may develop into a background or something. Well anyways here you go:

Its late so I'm gonna keep this short! Its done yippee, harder than I thought it would be but that could be because I was really trying hard on this one. Please ignore that AMG logo on the top, That will going asap. Ill keep the logo for the second picture which started out as just a muck-about but turned out fairly good (potential advert hey?) The third and final version is an odd joke really but well anyways here they are... enjoy.

Another small post tonite, working on a Merc, the new gullwing SLS, this 1 will be done by Wednesday I think plus another god willing! Just wanted to show the raw sketch before I go ahead and refine it and add colour. As you can see Im thinking of a woodland setting for this 1.

project - FERRARI 458

Been working on a few projects at the same time (as usual!) first to finish is this commissioned piece of a Ferrari 458 (The new entry level Fezza). I must admit the car is well designed, fantastic lines! One of the best looking model from the modern day Ferrari's. Well anyways total time taken was approx 4hrs but Ill have to add time to that because once I printed it I forgot to save the most recent changes! Silly me..... oh well!
 
Today I thought I will show the initial stage of one of my illustrations this is me roughly sketching the car, at this stage proportions are not perfect and there is no flow, but then that's what happens next.

I started this a few months back, but kind of forgot about it, then recently a mate urged me to finish it. Well its complete. This is one of the first still life automobile illustrations I done, it was.... well.... different I guess, trying to give it some dynamism (if there is such a word?) without ruining the stance was the main challenge. To be honest the wheels were the hardest, trying to get that perspective angle and stuff!

I've got a few more to finished 4 or 5 I think plus another 5 odd to start, so I better go away and get to work.

Just back from a 4 day trip to my 2nd home town Coventry, visiting friends and generating some potential business. This pot of origami tulips/lily's was an old project that I started but never found a reason to finished. Well its complete (infact it was complete last week but never mind). I gave it to a friend as a birthday present and well it floored her (only if she knew how easy it was to make!) I plan on doing some graphic artwork from the photographs I took, sometime in the future.

project - H V INVESTMENTS LOGO/ICONS

I know its been a few days but alot has been going on. The B-2 project was halted when someone damaged the final coat of paint, so I've had to go a re paint parts of it resulting in the project being behind schedule by 3-4 days. Hopefully I should have this project done by Monday (fingers crossed)


Plus Ive been busy with freelance work from 1 of my clients. H V INVESTMENTS (sister company to H V ESCORTS) needed the H V logo adjusted. This was a 5min job but I made some very small but much needed improvements to it.

Also required were some icons for their website (intro page I'm guessing). They each represent a separate stage of the business's core services. The brief was to make them strong - metaphorically, interesting, colourful and 'embossed' (unsure if I achieved the last requirement). Well below is the proposal, I know the 'glass tabs' need refining/editing plus there is some text to add, but the icons are effectively complete.

I think its some of my best work. Some of the simplest but it just works, plus the client loved them so I guess that means job done! well almost!

Yesterday I drew this up rather quickly and got it to print condition, but then a change of plans stopped me from sending it to the printers so for now it will be added to my collection.
It reads:

I will firstly admit this is not my design but the designers name is unknown to me (if you know please let me know). But I really loved the flow of this work everything is perfectly spaced and there is no deviation in the geometry at all. I found a very small photo of this work and just used it to draw up a fresh example in Corel.

project - SPACE SHUTTLE (scale model) COMPLETED

Well its finally finished! The completion was slightly delayed due to other commitments, but now the last bits of glue have dried and its ready for packing! This was a rather simple kit so I used a little artistic licence to make it look more interesting, just by playing with colours, textures etc...
For example I attempted to make the underbelly of the orbiter look like a tiled surface and I tried textured spray paint on the fuel tank to make it look like the foam-like material they use in real life. Over all it came out very decent, (I just hope the client is happy!)

I enjoyed myself so much that halfway through this build I started to 'complete' an unfinished model I had knocking about so watch this space.

BTW its a B2 stealth Bomber!

project - CONGRATULATIONS CARD

Sorry for the lack of updates but I've had to family come down for the week so we (the family) have been busy have bbq's and get-to-gathers! Plus I've been sorting that shuttle project (almost finished pics tomorrow). Right then onto the topic - recently my cousin from the motherland (Pakistan) aced his exams and increased his GPA to 3.70 (which is very good!!!). So I thought I will put together a card congratulating him.

Now my cousin's main interest is politics and I knew he has ambitions of 1 day being the President of Pakistan so I thought it would be funny to draw a picture of a pretend inauguration (years in the future). The main backdrop is the Pakistan Supreme Court. (fantastic architecture!) The inside is just a little joke really, overall it was well received and put a big smile on his face!
