project - GEOMETRIC PATTERN (warmup exercise)

I've been working on a logo for a DJ/PRODUCER named LO:TEK (minimal dubstep sort of vibe) I made little head yesterday but not enough to shout about. So I plan on getting my initial designs complete today, to help me get in the mood, I completed this very simple geometric pattern that I saw once in a book long ago, Its nothing too special but simple is always best, little play with colours and it worked out fairly nice! This may develop into a background or something. Well anyways here you go:

It took some time to get it to that level but we struggled with finding the right kind of background. I set about designing 1 myself, the main theme is 'birdcages' don't ask why but she loves them!

Its late so I'm gonna keep this short! Its done yippee, harder than I thought it would be but that could be because I was really trying hard on this one. Please ignore that AMG logo on the top, That will going asap. Ill keep the logo for the second picture which started out as just a muck-about but turned out fairly good (potential advert hey?) The third and final version is an odd joke really but well anyways here they are... enjoy.

Just posting to show the development of the SLS, I would have finished this yesterday was feeling well under the weather! (rain affected!) I'm expecting to button this up by tonite plus I need to finish off one of the 3D projects!

Another small post tonite, working on a Merc, the new gullwing SLS, this 1 will be done by Wednesday I think plus another god willing! Just wanted to show the raw sketch before I go ahead and refine it and add colour. As you can see Im thinking of a woodland setting for this 1.

project - FERRARI 458

assalamu alaikum

Been working on a few projects at the same time (as usual!) first to finish is this commissioned piece of a Ferrari 458 (The new entry level Fezza). I must admit the car is well designed, fantastic lines! One of the best looking model from the modern day Ferrari's. Well anyways total time taken was approx 4hrs but Ill have to add time to that because once I printed it I forgot to save the most recent changes! Silly me..... oh well!
 
Today I thought I will show the initial stage of one of my illustrations this is me roughly sketching the car, at this stage proportions are not perfect and there is no flow, but then that's what happens next.

Since I have yet to redo the finishing touches on the master copy I've just included a photo of the finished peice ready to be framed/packed/posted

I started this a few months back, but kind of forgot about it, then recently a mate urged me to finish it. Well its complete. This is one of the first still life automobile illustrations I done, it was.... well.... different I guess, trying to give it some dynamism (if there is such a word?) without ruining the stance was the main challenge. To be honest the wheels were the hardest, trying to get that perspective angle and stuff!

I've got a few more to finished 4 or 5 I think plus another 5 odd to start, so I better go away and get to work.

project - ORIGAMI FLOWERS

Just back from a 4 day trip to my 2nd home town Coventry, visiting friends and generating some potential business. This pot of origami tulips/lily's was an old project that I started but never found a reason to finished. Well its complete (infact it was complete last week but never mind). I gave it to a friend as a birthday present and well it floored her (only if she knew how easy it was to make!) I plan on doing some graphic artwork from the photographs I took, sometime in the future.

I've been very busy of late working on numerous project. The first to finish is this piece of artwork I did for a friend to commemorate his first car project which he finished a while back. Must admit its a lovely example of the iconic VW Beetle!

project - H V INVESTMENTS LOGO/ICONS

I know its been a few days but alot has been going on. The B-2 project was halted when someone damaged the final coat of paint, so I've had to go a re paint parts of it resulting in the project being behind schedule by 3-4 days. Hopefully I should have this project done by Monday (fingers crossed)


Plus Ive been busy with freelance work from 1 of my clients. H V INVESTMENTS (sister company to H V ESCORTS) needed the H V logo adjusted. This was a 5min job but I made some very small but much needed improvements to it.

Also required were some icons for their website (intro page I'm guessing). They each represent a separate stage of the business's core services. The brief was to make them strong - metaphorically, interesting, colourful and 'embossed' (unsure if I achieved the last requirement). Well below is the proposal, I know the 'glass tabs' need refining/editing plus there is some text to add, but the icons are effectively complete.

I think its some of my best work. Some of the simplest but it just works, plus the client loved them so I guess that means job done! well almost!
